Concrete columns rise from the Hudson like vessels waiting to be filled—sculptural forms echoing ancient urns yet speaking in thoroughly modern language. Trees grow impossibly from the elevated park, their roots finding purchase where concrete meets sky, proving life persists in unlikely places. There is unexpected grace in this engineered landscape, poetry in how these curves were designed for function but achieved something closer to art. Little Island floats between the natural and the constructed, neither fully anchored nor entirely adrift. What appears as artifice becomes sanctuary, and what we create with intention sometimes transcends its original purpose entirely.
